A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to host a pArty for the lovely ladies from Shape Your World Society: Total Makeover Challenge.
To give you a bit of an idea of what and who they are: “Shape Your World Society was founded January 17, 2011. It is a Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to help women and their families. Shape Your World Society offers a variety of workshops and seminars, and they also manage the Total Makeover Challenge in Abbotsford and Langley.”
“The purposes of Shape Your World Society: – To educate and support the emotional, physical and financial well-being of women and their families through workshops, seminars, and programs which shall include: (a) A 20 week makeover program that includes nutritional information education, fitness education, financial literacy and personal growth opportunities. (b) Weekend seminars for overall well-being (c) Weekend seminars for personal / career goals (d) Health & nutrition workshops (e) Family safety programs (f) Personal growth seminars.”
I was a great honour to sponsor this event! They all arrived promptly at 6 pm – began to each weigh in, measure and talked about the tough week they all had over Easter long weekend.
Finally at 7 pm the magic started happening. All the ladies put their serious and funny painting faces on, shared in their triumphs and pitfalls of their challenge, all the while creating beautiful pieces of art. I was honored to host such a wonderful group of ladies in the Fraser Valley community.
Congrats ladies for all your hard work!
Such a beautiful day!
We set up in the rain, wondering what the weather would do, but it was perfect. I can’t tell you when the rain stopped, but this weather was just not beach weather and as you can see by the photos… everyone knew exactly where to go!
Perfect day to be listening to great music, enjoy good food, art and explore your creative side!
I took the above photos looking left then right out of my booth! Crazy I know… so I yelled out: “Thank you beautiful people for supporting the arts!!” (Okay, I yelled it out with my inner voice… but I wanted to do it with my outer voice… really!)
Gone a little dotty!! I know! Nothing says pARTy like polka dots!
I missed a many beautiful people when they walked by or they left before I could grab ’em, but I did get a few to pose for a photo!
I had painting pARTies at my booth and these guys sure had fun! It is always exciting to see how those who were pretty sure that I could not get them to paint leave with a pretty decent painting. A lot of fun was had by all! 😀
Thank you for joining me today
See you in 2016!!
Just before the new year I was going through some old photos on Instagram and discovered that there were days that I did not post and then there were days I posted 6 photos. Reflecting on days I have almost forgotten about was so much fun that I decided to do this…
Take on the 365photo challenge. The whole idea is to post a photo a day reflecting on a thought, something I did or someone I met for the first time… I might throw in a group selfie or two 😀 Photos will be posted via Instagram to my Facebook profile and Twitter account …and when I have time I will update this blog post. I work full time, run ZealousArt, have 2 teenagers in the house and a million other things… and because I am not busy enough I have decided to do this… Will I last the whole 365 days? I don’t know! Will I post everyday? I don’t know. But I am going to try.
