Paint your Pet Paint Nights!

I will be hosting Paint your Pet Paint Nights at my studio in downtown Langley!!

Tickets are on sale and it is going to sell fast! Come join the FUN!

The cost is $50 (unless otherwise indicated ie wine nights! ) and includes up to 3 hours of individual art instruction. All art supplies are provided. Please send us a photo of your pet (to reach us at least one week before the event) We will draw your pet out on the canvas for you! This is not a traditional paint night or paint a long where an artist leads in front. Each painting is unique and for that reason we will have artists walking around giving individual guidance.

Team building Transport Canada Vancouver

After some consultation it was decided on doing the musical chairs painting, but they also wanted to do a collaborative painting… So we did both!

Theme: Transport
Team building session: Collaborative & Musical chairs painting!
The team: A fairly new team ‘Coordination and Policy” for Transport Canada. They are all analysts of some sort…

Fabulous bunch of people!

Trusting the process we started off with the 8 canvases with simple lines on it… The photos tells the rest of the story!

I designed a scene and drew it out over 8 canvasses.

The team got right into painting and it was exciting to see the canvases with the first splashes of paint!

Outdoor painting

Out door painting pARTies are just the best thing since sliced bread! Something that came up recently is a conversation about the bugs and the wind, the weather. The weather does play a major role in a successful outdoor event, but I believe that if we wait for good weather or plan around the weather we won’t be doing much. 13669258_1530922496972474_8271525808724275939_o

We have had many events outside and like every outdoor event there is wind and there are bugs, but it has never been an issue ruining an event. Bugs can easily be lifted with the brush if they end up on the canvas. I will suggest keeping sweet drinks and fruits away it that might be a concern.

We don’t make use of paper plates/cups/napkins that can blow away in the wind! Our events are garbage free! We use glass jars for water, painting palettes and painting rags.

If it is very sunny and warm the paint dries quickly, but have ways to deal with that and all pARTies that we have had outside has been a lot of fun and everyone had great paintings. When it rains other than dealing with colder temperatures, it does not really affect the painting session. I do suggest having some kind of cover be arranged for shade or if it rains. Your event will still continue if it rains, except if there are any official weather warnings

We have standing easels and table easels for your convenience.

Should you require, we can arrange for bar stools, tables and catering for your event.

Ready to book a home art pARTy?

So you are ready to book that pARTy, but not sure where, when or how!

This is your ultimate guide to booking a pARTy!

First we need to find you a date that works for both of us. Send me an email to see what dates are available. Let me know if you are booking for this month, next month or next year! Do you prefer weekends, weekdays, day or evenings. I will reply with dates available then we can move on the pARTy business!

Where would you like to host a pARTy? I have done pARTies at local coffee shops, Townhome club-houses, the garden or in the kitchen. I have teamed up with some local wineries for parties greater than 10 people which is a fantastic location for a pARTy. I do have a space at Zealous Art Studios in Langley that is available for groups up to 22, but my service is mobile so do not hesitate to ask! I service the greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas!

How many people can you invite? We don’ t have a minimum!! The cost is $300 for up to 8 people, then an additional cost per person there after. So if you are only 5 you can still have a pARTy!! There is no maximum! We do require a 50% deposit for pARTies over 25 people!

What is needed for a pARTy? We make use of table easels so, you can have a table and chairs set up just like you would for a dinner pARTy. We will bring the rest.

We also have standing easels available for summer PATIO pARTies!

What to paint? You pick the design from our gallery for your pARTy, if you do not see a design you like I can design a painting just for your group! (3 week notice required)

Can we play music while painting? YES! Play music eat snacks and drink wine! This is a FUN ART lesson, not a FINE ART lesson!

What is included? 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 hours of FUN art instruction, table cloths, easels, brushes, palettes, water containers, canvasses aprons and painting rags! We make use of acrylic paint, so no smell and the painting is dry by the time your guests go home! You supply tables, chairs and good lighting.

Such a beautiful day!

We set up in the rain, wondering what the weather would do, but it was perfect. I can’t tell you when the rain stopped, but this weather was just not beach weather and as you can see by the photos… everyone knew exactly where to go!

Perfect day to be listening to great music, enjoy good food, art and explore your creative side!

I took the above photos looking left then right out of my booth! Crazy I know… so I yelled out: “Thank you beautiful people for supporting the arts!!” (Okay, I yelled it out with my inner voice… but I wanted to do it with my outer voice… really!)

Gone a little dotty!! I know! Nothing says pARTy like polka dots!

I missed a many beautiful people when they walked by or they left before I could grab ’em, but I did get a few to pose for a photo!

I had painting pARTies at my booth and these guys sure had fun! It is always exciting to see how those who were pretty sure that I could not get them to paint leave with a pretty decent painting. A lot of fun was had by all! 😀

Ghostly Gastown Tours

I invited a few people I know and encouraged them to invite a few people they know and so a bunch of us headed to Vancouver to listen to stories… stories about the Ghosts that find themselves in Gastown… Nope, not sharing the stories here, you have to go and do this tour… Stephanie was our guide and did a great job at telling the stories. At the end of the tour no one wanted to go home… they were just staring at her… hanging on her lips, wanting more! It did not feel like we just walked around for about 90 minutes, it was a great night out.

The place has a great vibe, busy and interesting. I walked down pathways and alleys I would not have walked down, well after hearing some of the stories, I don’t think that has changed! Well in a crowd of 15 or so I will! ha ha

The tour costs $15 p person and takes approximately 90 minutes. When purchasing your ticket ensure you pick the correct date by clicking on the drop down arrow. Bring walking shoes and water and be on the lookout… you might just spot a ghost of two …. visit their website to see tour dates. If you can’t find a date that suites you, you can arrange for a private tour for small groups!
