Hi lovely,
I’ve been thinking about this red octopus painting.
It’s bright.
It’s bold.
It has all these twisting, reaching arms and playful little details… and yet somehow, painting it can feel incredibly calming. Isn’t that funny?
Sometimes we think calm has to look soft and neutral and quiet, but sometimes calm looks like red paint, turquoise water, little circles, curvy lines, and letting yourself get completely lost in the process for a while.
That’s one of the things I love most about painting. It gives your busy mind somewhere gentle to land.
One brushstroke.
One colour.
One little detail at a time and somewhere along the way, something shifts. You stop thinking so much about whether it’s “good.”
You start noticing the colours.
You start playing.
You start trusting your hand a little more and by the end, you haven’t just painted an octopus…
You’ve given yourself a little reset.
A little transformation.
A little reminder that you can create something exciting, colourful, and full of life, even if you started the day feeling tired, stuck, or uninspired.
That’s why I love this class.
It’s fun, bold, and beginner-friendly, but still gives you that peaceful feeling of sitting down and making something with your own hands.

No pressure.
No perfection.
Just a playful painting, one brushstroke at a time.
Fun art. Not fine art.
Always.
